The core, cover plate and gasket are the main components of the removable plate heat exchanger. The core is the core part welded by angle plate, plate group, expansion joint group, etc. The removable plate heat exchanger has high heat transfer efficiency, convenient installation and use, and high energy efficiency. However, its structure has certain limitations. Under high temperature or other conditions, the medium has many characteristics, so it is susceptible to corrosion and affects its overall performance. Therefore, Xiaobian analyzed the corrosion causes of removable plate heat exchanger, and then put forward specific protection measures to improve the equipment life and promote the stable operation of the equipment by reducing the possibility of corrosion.

  1、 Corrosion cause analysis

  (1) Temperature

Corrosion is related to temperature. Generally, the higher the temperature is, the faster the chemical reaction will occur. Under certain conditions, especially in the case of small holes in the protective film entering and damaging the local passivation film, the chemical reaction will occur when entering the crack.

  (2) Stress corrosion

If there is no problem with the quality of the plate, corrosion will occur. The main reason is stress corrosion. Stress corrosion refers to the local corrosion damage, general corrosion joint, pattern, etc. of metal materials due to the joint action of corrosion medium and tensile stress, resulting in plate fracture. Tensile stress and corrosion atmosphere are the key factors of stress corrosion. As for tensile stress, its focus is on the residual stress generated in machining, as well as some uneven stress generated in the working environment, and alloy materials such as high-strength steel and stainless steel are sensitive to stress corrosion.

In order to reduce the corrosion risk of removable plate heat exchanger, effective measures must be taken. Specific protection methods include:

1、 In the manufacturing process, the plate must be kept for a period of time after stamping to completely eliminate the residual stress.

2、 The surface of the plate shall be protected from scratching and creating conditions for secondary corrosion.

3、 Ensure the stable operation of heat exchanger and improve the stability of system operation. The heat exchanger (especially the chemical composition and temperature of the replacement medium) must be well monitored. This helps to effectively protect the corrosion of the machine and improve the service life of the removable plate heat exchanger when the corrosion degree of the heat exchanger is significantly reduced.
